Templeton students attend state conference

Six Templeton Middle School students and an adult advisor attended the Wisconsin Association of School Councils (WASC) Level 1 Student Leadership Workshop. The workshop was held at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay campus.

Students Kylee Zarzynski, Amy Kimball, Corie Spankowski, Andrea Salus, Mike Guzman and Maggie Rae attended along with Templeton teacher and Student Council Advisor Arlyn Clarksen. They were among 175 Wisconsin middle and junior high school student leaders who participated.

Each council group was given the opportunity to participate in various groups and individual activities. The workshop was designed to develop leadership and communication skills. Activities emphasized skills necessary for effective meetings, organization, group processes, goal-setting, project planning and evaluation.

WASC is a statewide organization of public, private and parochial middle, junior and senior high school student councils. In addition to sponsoring seven levels of leadership training at summer workshops, WASC provides year-round support and programs for student responsibilities and leadership development.
