Nationally recognized speaker and educator Corwin Kronenberg will speak March 18 on “Teaching Kids to be Responsible.” The free presentation will begin at 7 p.m. at Templeton Middle School in Sussex.
Kronenberg is a parent, author, teacher and presenter who uses 30 years of classroom experience to provide down-to-earth knowledge about children in a fast-paced, entertaining style. His presentation will include:
- managing behavior with kindness, caring and respect – the foundation of responsibility;
- disciplining vs. punishing – analyzing their impact on responsibility;
- avoiding mini lectures and power struggles – the destroyers of responsibility;
- dealing with behavioral con games – the child’s attempt to avoid responsibility; and
- making rules and delivering consequences that teach responsibility.
