Hamilton students to hear “Living Voices”

Hamilton High School and Templeton Middle School students will see the 1950s and 1960s through the eyes of a young man who uses historical footage to show actual events of the time.

Living Voices, a professional theater company from Seattle, Wash., will perform three times Feb. 26, beginning at the middle school with a 40-minute performance at 8:20 a.m. in the Large Gymnasium and then traveling to the high school for two one-hour performances in the Little Theater that begin at 11:05 a.m. and 1:05 p.m.

The first two performance are of “The Right to Dream,” which deals with the civil rights movement. The final performance of “La Causa” focuses on the farm workers’ movement, led by Mexican-American civil rights activist Cesar Chavez.

Hamilton’s Club Unique is sponsoring these presentations in celebration of African-American History month.

The school is located at W220 N6151 Town Line Rd., Sussex.
