Hamilton Charger Robotics hosts Open House Feb. 22

The Hamilton High School Charger Robotics team will host an Open House Feb. 22 from noon to 4 p.m. at the school. The event is free and open to those interested in viewing the Charger Robotics’ robot as well as the machines of several Wisconsin teams.

The teams will present mock competitions and demonstrations every 15 minutes in the large gymnasium. Visitors will be able watch the demonstrations from the bleachers and ask team members questions. They also may view teams working on their robots in the pit, located in the small gymnasium.

Concessions and a child center will be available in the cafeteria. Children will be able to color pictures of robots and learn about the robotics program. Lego League teams from several schools will also be present for demonstrations.

Drawings for the WI-FIRST raffle will be held at 3:45 p.m. in the main gym. Top prizes include a Dell 2.66 GHz laptop computer, Dell 17-inch LCD television/monitor, one-night accommodation at the Olympia Resort in Oconomowoc, two $100 cash prizes and many smaller prizes.

Teams expected to attend and demonstrate include:

  • Team 269 – Oconomowoc High School;
  • Team 537 – Hamilton High School;
  • Team 1064 – South Milwaukee High School;
  • Team 1091 – Hartford Union High School;
  • Team 1103 – Delavan Darien High School;
  • Team 1259 – Pewaukee High School; and
  • Team 1306 – Madison High School.
