English Language Learners (ELL)

The District English Language Learners (ELL) program supports English language learners as they become proficient in English and acquire the concepts and skills necessary to successfully complete the district’s educational program.

Wisconsin state law defines an ELL student as a student whose ability to use the English language is limited because of the use of a language other than English in his/her family or in his/her daily, non-school surroundings, and who has difficulty with reading, writing, speaking or comprehending in English within the academic classroom setting.

For additional information, view the ELL handbook.
