Hamilton High School (HHS) students had the opportunity to hear from dozens of professionals during the school’s inaugural Career Day on March 14. More than 70 guest speakers from the community came to HHS for a morning specifically dedicated to college and career explorations.

“Career Day is a great opportunity for all Hamilton students to hear from professionals they may never encounter otherwise,” explains Hamilton High School Communication Arts and AVID Elective Teacher Dana Marklund. “Bringing in career professionals is a great way to allow our AVID, National Honors Society and Student Ambassadors to meet one-on-one and practice their professionalism and interpersonal skills! It was amazing to see our students talk with professionals and make them feel at home here at Hamilton. The kids were so excited to shake their hands, lead them to their class, and hear about their jobs!”
“It was helpful to put a face and an actual person to a profession,” says Hamilton High School junior Ari Gorsline.
“This event featured such a diverse group of professionals who were able to engage our students with informative presentations and real-world advice,” said Hamilton High School Associate Principal Jacob Doyle. “The high level of student participation and enthusiasm showed how beneficial the experience was as students seek their future aspirations. A great day this year and hopefully for the years ahead.”
