Woodside Elementary School fourth-graders will be making special visits in Sussex on May 19 and 20 to culminate their science study of geology.
The students will tour the Halquist Quarry where they will see ancient fossils found on the site and the quarrying process. They will be able to collect samples of igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks to start their own rock collections.
Following the quarry tour, they will stop at Ace’s II Rock Shop to see additional fossils and examine additional rock specimens to add to their collections.
The tours will be at 9 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. The classes of Kathy Theis and Aaron Greenwald will tour on May 19, and the classes of Chris Parrinello and Judith Wroblewski will make their visits on May 20.
