The Wisconsin Student Immunization Law requires all students in kindergarten through 12th grade to show proof of chickenpox immunity beginning with the 2005-06 school year. To comply with the law, a vaccine date or indication that the child had the chickenpox disease is needed. Waivers are available for medical, religious or personal conviction reasons.
This is in addition to the typical vaccinations required for entrance in preschool programs and schools. Parents who have questions regarding required vaccinations should contact their physician or the Waukesha County Health Department at (262) 896-8430.
