Two Templeton Middle School eighth-graders took third place in the statewide 2008 Stock Market Game fall competition. Under the guidance of Templeton social studies teacher Rhonda Watton, team members Aaron Konop and Maxwel Schwid managed a hypothetical $100,000 investment portfolio in the 15-week game. The pair ended the game with $108,200.71.
The Stock Market Game is sponsored by EconomicsWisconsin and introduces students to financial markets and institutions, how to choose and buy stocks, personal finance and budgeting skills and the value of investing for the future.
The Templeton team will be recognized Feb. 11 at the Stock Market Game awards banquet at the Delafield Brewhaus.
