With gratitude from Principal Brian Balfany

Lannon School Community,

Again I am at a loss for words with regards to a fantastic year of learning and our continued positive partnership. We truly have a lot to celebrate and a lot to be thankful for at Lannon, and hopefully you all (parents, families, learners, educators) feel the same way. Lannon is a special place and we couldn’t do the wonderful things we do as a school community without your partnership. Thank you. We’d like to specially recognize a few groups below.

  • Our Home & School and Lannon Families – This year we saw the installation of new playground equipment as well as the integration of many new iPads for our classrooms. Our Home and School continued to support Lannon field trips, lead fun events (Muffins, Pancakes, Spring Sprint, the Lannon Dodgeball Tournament, All-School Skate and so many more), sponsor our school spirit days and snacks, and support our classrooms and teachers with support for classroom item purchases. Thank you to our Home and School Board as well as the many volunteers who helped lead events and helped transform our school for the Book Fair and Teacher Appreciation week, among other things. We are very grateful for all of the support, including leading our activities on the last day of school.
  • Our Students – We welcomed our largest population of learners in recent history this year. Thank you to our learners for embracing Cardinal Pride and doing their best to respect others in our learning community. Our learners’ academic efforts were exceptional and we look forward to their continued success at Lannon next year and at Templeton in the fall for our graduating fifth graders.
  • Our Staff – We are unbelievably fortunate to have such a knowledgeable and strong staff. Our educators spend a lot of time, at home and at school, dedicating themselves to the preparation and delivery of learning and we thank them for their efforts. Additionally, thank you to our assistants, paraprofessionals and custodial staff for helping us maintain a beautiful culture (in actions and also in the appearance of our physical facilities).

Thank YOU! Lannon is a special place because families and staff are able to work hand-in-hand to support our learners. We hope you all have a summer filled with fun and relaxation. We look forward to seeing many of you in the Summer Opportunities program. To our departing fifth graders, we wish you the best of luck. Please come back and visit! To the rest of you, we’ll see you in the fall when we kick off our 2018-19 school year.

With gratitude,
Brian Balfany
