2022-2023 State Assessment Requirements and Hamilton High School Dates

Fastbridge Reading and Math Screener

  • Point person – C. Drago
  • Administered three times a year
  • For grades 9 – 12
  • Computers used
  • Test dates – Oct., Jan. & April
    • exact dates to be determined
  • Purpose – to identify students that qualify for RTI interventions, are struggling & to gather baseline data for classes
    • replaced MAP

PSAT

  • Point person – K. Hasbrook
  • Administered one time a year
  • For grade 10 & grade 11
  • Computers not used
  • Test date – Oct. 12, 2022
  • Purpose – optional as a practice for the SAT
    • necessary for juniors to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program

Practice ACT

  • Point person – D. Johnson
  • Administered one time a year
  • For grade 11
  • Computers not used
  • Test date – Nov. 1, 2022
  • Purpose – to prep juniors for the ACT in spring

ACT

  • Point person – H. Geracie
  • Administered one time a year
  • For grade 11
  • Computers used
  • Test date – March 7, 2023
  • Purpose – required by state for the school to administer an ACT to every junior & cover fee
    • students may use score for college admission if they choose

Forward

  • Test date – April 5, 2023
  • Purpose – state required assessment for social studies
    • mandatory for all sophomore students

ACCESS

  • Point person – J. Kapatanovic
  • Administered one time a year
  • For all EL students
  • Computers used
  • Test dates – Feb. 22 – April 30, 2023
  • Purpose – to asses EL students on four different areas of language acquisition

Aspire

  • Point person – D. Johnson
  • Administered one time a year
  • For grade 9 & grade 10
  • Computers used
  • Test dates – Spring; exact dates to be determined
  • Purpose and description – state required
    • pre-ACT; preps students for the actual ACT
    • covers five subjects

AP Testing

  • Point person – H. Geracie
  • Administered one time a year
  • For grades 10 – 12
  • Computers not used
  • Test dates – May 1-12, 2023
  • Purpose – to asses what students learned in their AP classes & give them the opportunity to score well enough to earn college credit
