Art Club offers students a chance to experience media they may not otherwise have the opportunity to work with; enables students to visit visual arts venues available within driving distance of HHS; as well as learn about display and assist art teachers in setting up the district art show. The club takes several field trips to art museums and galleries, such as the Milwaukee Art Museum, John Michael Kohler Art Center and the Chicago Art Institute. Other galleries and small museums are selected based on the exhibition calendars. Alternately with field trips, studio nights are offered in areas of glass, ceramics, or guest artist workshops as well as creating pieces to be sold at fundraising events, such as Charger Challenge.
Art club welcomes any student interested in the visual arts whether in an art class or not. The goal of Art club is for students to experience studio art, build cultural literacy and foster an appreciation for the visual arts.
