Available positions:

Paraprofessional – Special Services, Silver Spring Intermediate School, 2019-20 School Year, 28.75 hours/week, Monday-Friday 8:15 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Qualifications: Knowledge of and the ability to assist in the instruction of reading, mathematics and writing instruction; successful experience working with students with disabilities; working with students with emotional and behavioral challenges preferred; must have strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills; certification (or certifiable) by DPI as a Special Education Program Aide; Two years of study at an institution of higher education, an associate’s degree (or higher), or high school  graduation and such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education finds appropriate and acceptable.

Position Goal: To assist the teacher or other certified personnel in achieving teaching objectives by working with students with special education needs in special education classroom and/or small group settings. Other responsibilities include support students with special needs in the general education classroom, facilitate effective communication between the special and general education teaching staff, and assist students with special needs with medical and/or daily living needs.

Administrative Assistant – Accounts Payable, Hamilton School District, 1.0 FTE

Qualifications: Knowledge and ability to use a variety of application software (Word, Excel, Power Point, Skyward Financial, etc.) and computer equipment; math skills including general bookkeeping procedures; ability to prepare statistical reports; willingness to upgrade technical skills as needed; and work independently but cooperatively as part of a team; such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education finds appropriate and acceptable.

Position Goal: Maintain accurate accounts payable and fixed asset records; prepare accounts payable checks, related to reports and Board listing; and perform clerical duties using individual judgment and initiative.

Compensation: $41,000 – $45,000 per year plus generous benefit package.

Position Goal: To assist the special education teacher in working students with medical and daily living skills. Responsibilities assisting with toileting, transferring students from wheelchairs to standers, and supporting other life skill needs of the special education students. Other responsibilities include support students with special needs in the general education classroom, facilitate effective communication between the special and general education teaching staff, and assist students with special needs with medical and/or daily living needs. Willingness to drive and accompany students on community outings preferred.
