Hamilton students win awards in regional art contest

Seven Hamilton High School art students earned awards in the 2018 Scholastic Art Awards – Wisconsin Regional Competition and Exhibition. Students who earned awards were:


  • Ella VanHaren – Gold Key for painting and Silver Key for chalk pastel drawing;
  • Jaspreet Kaur – Gold Key for mixed media self-portrait;
  • Morgan Price – Silver Key and two Honorable Mentions for photography;
  • Zachary Balsiger – Silver Key for mixed media self-portrait;
  • Madelyn Mascotti – Silver Key for charcoal self-portrait drawing;
  • Mariah Behr – Three Honorable Mentions for photography; and
  • Kinnan Lassiter – Honorable Mention for digital art.

Gold Key art work will advance to national competition. The Wisconsin Scholastic Art Awards program, which features outstanding works by students in grades 7–12, is the regional section of the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards National Program conducted by the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers, Inc.
