Hamilton schools to observe Red Ribbon Week

Hamilton School District students, staff and families will observe Red Ribbon Week that will occur Oct. 23 – 27 with a variety of activities at school. Activities highlight the fight against drugs, good choices and healthy habits.Red-Ribbon-Week -logo

Lannon Elementary School, 7145 N. Lannon Road, Lannon
Lannon staff and students will participate in healthy activities and games throughout Red Ribbon Week.

Tuesday, Oct. 24 –

  • Students and staff are invited to wear red in recognition of Red Ribbon Week.

Maple Avenue Elementary School, W240 N6059 Maple Avenue, Sussex
Maple Avenue encourages all students to participate in “Be a Maple Avenue Champion” during Red Ribbon Week with the following themes and activities.

Monday, Oct. 23 –

  • Daily theme – “Be a Champion sleeper!”
  • Students are invited to wear pajamas.

Tuesday, Oct. 24 –

  • Daily theme – “Be a Champion athlete!”
  • Students are invited to wear their favorite sporting, activity or team clothing.

Wednesday, Oct. 25 –

  • Daily theme – “Be a team Champion and wear your class color!”
  • Students are invited to wear color chosen by individual class.

Thursday, Oct. 26 –

  • Daily theme – “Be a wild and wacky Champion and show your crazy side!”
  • Students are invited to dress up with wacky socks, mismatch outfit or crazy hair.

Friday, Oct. 27 –

  • Daily theme – “Be a Maple Avenue Champion!”
  • Students are invited to wear Maple Avenue spirit wear.

Marcy Elementary School, W180 N4851 Marcy Road, Menomonee Falls
Banners will be displayed in the hallways to reinforce the living healthy message during Red Ribbon Week. Making healthy choices for our bodies is a theme that continues throughout the year.

Tuesday, Oct. 24 –

  • Students and staff are invited to wear red clothing in support of creating a drug-free community

Wednesday, Oct. 25 –

  • Special video announcement on Marcy Eagle News will focus on healthy lifestyle choices including exercise, food and water, and sleep.

Woodside Elementary School, W236 N7465 Woodside Road, Sussex
“Your Future is Key, So Stay Healthy!” is the Red Ribbon Week theme at Woodside. The focus of the week will be KEYS to living a healthy life.

Monday, Oct. 23 –

  • Daily theme – “Keep Moving”
  • Students are invited to wear athletic or team apparel and will discuss the importance of exercise for good health.

Tuesday, Oct. 24 –

  • Daily theme – “Eat Healthy Foods”
  • Students are invited to bring a healthy snack and will discuss healthy eating habits.

Wednesday, Oct. 25 –

  • Daily theme – “You Matter”
  • There will be a discussion about how emotional health, feeling good about ourselves, is part of overall wellness.

Thursday, Oct. 26 –

  • Daily theme – “Sleep”
  • Students are invited to wear their pajamas and will discuss the importance of sleep to keep healthy and do their best in school.

Friday, Oct. 27 –

  • Students are invited to wear red in recognition of Red Ribbon Week.

Templeton Middle School, N59 W22490 Silver Spring Drive, Sussex
Templeton Middle School’s Red Ribbon Week theme is “Your Future is Key, So Stay Drug Free.” Morning announcements will relate to how drugs negatively impact future goals.

Monday, Oct. 23

  • Grade 6 students will be randomly selected to reinforce the theme by stating it and will receive a red lollipop with a correct response.

Tuesday, Oct. 24

  • Grade 7 students will participate in the same routine.

Wednesday, Oct. 25

  • Grade 8 students will participate in the same routine.

Thursday, Oct. 26 and Friday, Oct. 27

  • Remaining treats will be distributed by staff at their discretion to reinforce the theme and related messages.
