Without her I would not get the concepts that we learn. She has fun games and activities that help with learning and is always willing to help. Both of my children had Mrs. Gielow for math. Her style of teaching varied for both classes to meet the exact needs of students. My son was in a class of kids that struggled a bit more. His class had to stand at the dry erase walls to perform practice activities. This not only allowed Mrs. Gielow to easily see who needed assistance, but kids could not get away with doodling, looking at phones, etc. She did not wait for kids to approach her- she helped them when she saw they needed it! |

Christine stepped in to complete a long-term sub assignment for my high school art classes, in addition to her elementary position, when my leave of absence was extended. The original sub was not able to stay, leaving her without guidance or information, yet she jumped in and continued keeping students on track with virtual learning. She went above and beyond when she ascertained students’ needs for art materials, then made them available at school or even personally delivered to homes! |

I have had an opportunity to share EL students with Mary Caucutt the last two school years, including current virtual learning. Mary always looks for ways to have ALL her students engaged in learning. Her Google classroom is easy to navigate, her science lessons are taught in connection to real life, and with visuals. She has always taken initiative in providing modified assignments for ELs, and thus allowing them to thrive in an abstract class such as Science. Thank you, Mary! |
