Families invited to attend day of fun March 15 at Spring Fest

Families are invited to a day of community celebration that emphasizes healthy living March 15 at Spring Fest–Better Together. The event is hosted at Hamilton High School and organized by the Sussex Area Chamber of Commerce and local community groups.

Free entertainment includes Irish dancers, UW-Madison Marching Band, Mad Science, Kohl’s Wild Theater with the Zoological Society, Accompany of Kids and Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit. Hands-on children’s activities include a passport game, bulb-planting and HAWS pet visit.

If you want to make a difference for others consider participating in the Zumbathon to benefit the Volunteer Organization of Women in Sussex, Lioness Club Blood Drive or the NHS George Webb breakfast with proceeds going to the Sussex Food Pantry. Free health screening will be offered. New this year is the Strollin’ Colon, a room-sized pink inflatable presented by Froedtert Health.

Following breakfast, doors to exhibits in the gym open at 10 a.m. where about 100 vendors will have booths with good information and specialty items to share.

Many Hamilton High School students will be involved in this year’s Spring Fest as demonstrators, food-sellers, volunteers and vendors, including family and consumer science students, Charger Robotics, DECA, National Honor Society, Charger Football, Hamilton Student Council, Class of 2014-15, German Club and Chargerettes.
