Long-term Substitute – Spanish, Templeton Middle School, January – April 2021

General Summary:

Position Goal: 7th grade students will learn introductory Spanish vocabulary and culture and 8th grade students will learn Level 1 Spanish vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure and basic conversation.

Qualifications: The Hamilton School District is looking for a highly motivated Spanish Teacher at Templeton Middle School to serve in a long-term substitute position.  Interested applicants will be enthusiastic, positive, team oriented and self-motivated with the ability to plan, create and implement differentiated lessons.  The selected candidates must possess a strong command of the Spanish language and content and have a strong background of experience/understanding of the Spanish language as well as effective instructional strategies to teach students new to learning the language. Candidates should possess skills to effectively integrate technology into classroom instruction and data driven decision making. This position is responsible for delivery of a challenging, relevant, and engaging curriculum to support student learning.  Certification by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction in the subject areas taught; and such alternatives to the qualifications as the Board of Education finds appropriate and acceptable.

Long-term Substitute – School Psychologist, Maple Avenue & Lannon Elementary School

Position Goal: Serve on academic, social emotional, and behavioral intervention teams at the building level; serve on building and district Response to Intervention and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports committee; conduct student assessments; case manage IEP teams; assist special education team with executive functioning instruction and intervention for students with disabilities; provide consultation services and psychological interventions; keep abreast of new developments in the areas of school psychology, special education and mental health; and perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Special Services/building principal.

Qualifications: Certification by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction as a school psychologist (7062); such alternatives to the qualifications as the Board of Education finds appropriate and acceptable.

Long-term Substitute Teacher – Special Education, Templeton Middle School

Position Goal: The selected candidate must have excellent communication and collaboration skills to assist students with academic, social, emotional, behavioral, and communicative delays to reach their full potential in both inclusive and special education settings. The selected candidate must possess a strong command of strategies to assist students with behavioral, social, emotional, academic and communicative delays to reach their full potential in both inclusive and special education settings. Candidates also should have excellent communication and collaboration skills. This position is responsible for delivering a challenging, relevant, and engaging curriculum to support student learning. Co-curricular coaching and advising opportunities may be available.

The selected candidate should also have experience developing behavior intervention plans, annual goals, and accommodations to help students meet their goals and to participate with their peers to the fullest extent possible. The selected candidate should also have a strong background in assessment including a working knowledge of the SCERTS model. CPI Training and previous experience working with students with disabilities at the middle school level is preferred, but not required.

Qualifications: Certification by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction as a Cross Categorical (1801) teacher; such alternatives to the qualifications as the Board of Education finds appropriate and acceptable.
