Lannon to host Kids’ Choice Award Ceremony Feb. 14 PDF Print
Thursday, February 09, 2012 5:12 pm

Lannon Elementary School will host on Feb. 14 at 9 a.m. the Waukesha County Kids’ Choice Award Ceremony.

The Waukesha County Kids’ Choice Award began in 2001 to encourage fourth- through sixth-graders to read. In addition, the program promotes collaboration between public and school libraries in Waukesha County. Each year, 15 books are nominated by a committee of Waukesha County public and school librarians. The nominated books appeal to many different readers in terms of genre and reading level. Students who read at least five of the nominated books vote for their favorite book. The votes are calculated for the entire Waukesha County.

More information about the program is available on the web at http://www.wcfls.org/kidschoice/.

The Milwaukee Wave professional indoor soccer team sponsors the program and will participate in the annual award ceremony at Lannon.  Two Milwaukee Wave soccer players will make the winning announcement.

Lannon Elementary School is located at 7145 N. Lannon Road, Lannon.
