Bonecrushers visit Woodside students PDF Print

A friendship that developed last July at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, recently brought special guests to Woodside Elementary School. Members of the Milwaukee Bonecrushers, a Continental Indoor Football League team, came to see fifth-grader Katie Godlewski at her school. Godlewski was hospitalized for 49 days last summer.

Owner and player John Burns, player Dan Morjal and three cheerleaders talked to Godlewski and the school’s fourth- and fifth-graders. They discussed the topics of fair play, good sportsmanship and teamwork and answered questions from students. The players and cheerleaders signed autographs for the fifth-graders, and stayed to sign 130 cards for the fourth-graders.

The Milwaukee Bonecrushers, coached by former Green Bay Packer Gilbert Brown, is in its inaugural season at the U.S. Cellular Area.
