Maple Avenue students conduct "One For Books" campaign PDF Print
Wednesday, March 28, 2007 6:00 pm
Maple Avenue Elementary School fourth-graders raised more than $420 and were able to purchase approximately 175 books that were donated to the Sussex Food Pantry. In addition providing books for local Sussex area families, the students’ efforts provided books for a national charity.

Students participated in the “One For Books” campaign that was part of their Scholastic Book Fair. For each dollar they raised for their local charity, Scholastic donated a book to a nonprofit organization devoted to improving reading skills among children including Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc., National Center for Family Literacy and Toys for Tots.
