Hamilton High School senior Dana Eimermann will receive a President’s Volunteer Service Award for her dedicated service to the community. Eimermann organized “Dance for a New Day,” a dance-a-thon that raised more than $10,000 for the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin last year. She spent more than 175 hours working on the project from October 2004 to March 2005.

“Dana is an excellent student who is focused on and committed to making a positive difference in her community,” said Hamilton High School Principal David Furrer.

The award was presented by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program on behalf of the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation. Sponsored by Prudential Financial in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals, the program recognizes young people across the country for outstanding community service activities. Eimermann participated in the Spirit of the Community program as a representative of Hamilton High School.
