Monday, May 09, 2005 6:00 pm
Maple Avenue Elementary School fourth-graders have invited their senior citizen pen pals to a morning of activities, music and friendship June 3 as they host their Age-to-Age Pen Pal Party.

Students and senior citizens have exchanged letters during the school year as part of the Age-to-Age Pen Pal Project. The party gives them an opportunity to meet face to face. The project is part of the Seniors & Students Volunteer Program, a cooperative effort of the Hamilton School District and Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Waukesha that involves senior citizen volunteers in the schools.

The schedule for the event includes:

  • 9:15 a.m. -- arrival, greetings, refreshments;
  • 9:40 a.m. -- arts and crafts activity;
  • 10:10 a.m. – sing-along; and
  • 10:30 a.m. -- goodbyes.

Maple Avenue Elementary School is located at W240 N6059 Maple Ave., Sussex.
