Thursday, May 05, 2005 6:00 pm
Templeton Middle School student Elizabeth Cychosz was one of three Wisconsin sixth-graders recognized in the 2005 K-12 Energy Education Program (KEEP) and Focus on Energy bookmark contest. Cychosz’s winning bookmark earned her a $50 savings bond and an invitation to an awards ceremony at the State Capitol in Madison. Her bookmark is also posted on the KEEP website at www.uwsp.edu/keep. Copies of her bookmark will be duplicated and distributed to Wisconsin schools and libraries. The contest was sponsored by the Wisconsin K-12 Energy Education Program.

This year’s energy theme focused on energy use in school buildings. Students designed eye-catching bookmarks with the theme "Saving Energy: My School First" and asked students to show how they affect energy usage in their school.
