Woodside ready to read with Book Fair PDF Print
Tuesday, February 01, 2005 6:00 pm
It’s “Ready, Set, Read!” at Woodside Elementary School where students, parents and staff are getting ready for the Scholastic Book Fair Feb. 28 to March 4. The book fair is a fun-filled book sale and literacy event geared to excite children about reading and learning. The Scholastic Book Fair will offer the most popular books and educational products for all ages, including the newest titles, award-winners, classics and interactive products from more than 150 publishers.

The Scholastic Book Fair will kick off with a family event Feb. 28 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with door prizes and a visit from a famous book character. The book fair also will be open March 1-4 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

One of the book fair’s primary goals is to help teachers build classroom libraries. Visitors to the fair can check each teacher’s classroom wish list, then purchase and donate a requested book -- helping teachers develop a rich array of learning resources for community children. In addition, Woodside will use funds raised at the book fair to purchase essential classroom resources and support school projects.

Woodside is located at W236 N7465 Woodside Rd., Sussex.
