Monday, March 08, 2004 6:00 pm
Nationally recognized speaker and educator Corwin Kronenberg will speak March 18 on “Teaching Kids to be Responsible.” The free presentation will begin at 7 p.m. at Templeton Middle School in Sussex.

Kronenberg is a parent, author, teacher and presenter who uses 30 years of classroom experience to provide down-to-earth knowledge about children in a fast-paced, entertaining style. His presentation will include:
  • managing behavior with kindness, caring and respect – the foundation of responsibility;
  • disciplining vs. punishing – analyzing their impact on responsibility;
  • avoiding mini lectures and power struggles – the destroyers of responsibility;
  • dealing with behavioral con games – the child’s attempt to avoid responsibility; and
  • making rules and delivering consequences that teach responsibility.

Kronenberg’s appearance is sponsored by the parent groups from the Hamilton and New Berlin school districts and Richmond and Lake Country schools.

Templeton is located at N59 W22490 Silver Spring Dr., Sussex.
